We demonstrate a time-dependent dielectric metasurface with sub-cycle dynamics coupled with a photoexcited electromagnetic source. The ultrafast photoexcitation of nanostructured Silicon acts as a temporal discontinuity affecting the nonlinear response responsible for terahertz emission.Citation
