dc.description.abstractIn article number 1600013, Andrea Fratalocchi and co-workers present new biometic nanostructures for large scale solar steam generation and water desalination. The material is composed by fully recyclable, ultra-dark nanoparticles made by a nanorod with attached a nanosphere. When these nanoparticles are in contact with a liquid, such as e.g., water, and illuminated by sunlight, they greatly enhance the liquid evaporation rate and produce steam.
