Pyrroles and their benzo derivatives are among the most important nitrogen-containing heterocyclic organic compounds which are basic components of more complex macrocycles and building blocks for many natural products and biologically active molecules. This chapter provides an update on the structures relevant compounds reported in the last decade or so. In addition to conventional spectroscopic data, an in-depth discussion on the modern theoretical approaches on aromaticity is also introduced.Citation
