The application of heterogeneous semiconductors as catalysts for C–H functionalization reactions is presented. Visible light enables electron transfer processes for transition metal catalyzed olefination reactions providing important synthesis core structures in generally good yields. The methodology provides an elegant and sustainable alternative to otherwise stoichiometrically applied transition metal additives.Citation
