A single bird seen flying over the golf course February 12, 2010 and again October 1, 2010. About 20 birds landed in the mangroves area during a sand storm in October 2015. Since then regular records mainly at the golf course.
On 22 September 2009, 2 birds passed over the golf course at dusk. Since then 1 or 2 birds have been seen each autumnal passage. Easily confused with other buzzards. Seen well, resembles a small cuckoo.
Regular records from the gardens and golf course during winter months. Records indicate it is mainly a winter visitor. Most common on vines near Building 16. Male pictured. Female duller & lacking long tail.
